I was over there at the start of July and they where starting to spawn out and were even worse in August when I went. Not sure if you ever noticed a spawned out clam but their foot is really skinny and lacking meat.

Haven't noticed any difference and I went 3x last year, once in May and twice in August. This season heard clams were skinny early on but I went anyway in May and they were perfect and thick shells. Location maybe is the key? Not sure but never have had sub-standard clams even when they're open on this side.

Got over yesterday in a friends plane. Only one boat on the beach. Clams were fat and abundant. Dug all we wanted and were home by lunch.
