I am planning my trip back to AK next year and will be stopping into Ketchikan for 4-5 days.
I wanted to plan it so I can target some kings but I am not exactly sure what time of the year is good for that.
I was there in early or mid July 2013, and there were lots of fish around, but most people were snagging. Just wondering if that is a preference of was it because the fish were not biting? I'd prefer tossing spinners or even just using herring/bobber if possible.
Anyways, any and all advice would be appreciated on timing, boat rental options, and lodging.
