This is the ALASKA outdoor forum Taiga. You should know better man. And you'll notice that I put the anadromous fish in both the freshwater poll and the saltwater poll.

Last night's dolly lightly dusted with Zataran's fish fry, fried in butter, served with two eggs over medium, and bacon. That there, my friends, is fishin' fuel. Of course, if I can't find dollies, char will work in a pinch!

Nothing beats fresh Yukon River king, or atleast used to when you were allowed to catch them. Shame.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

I can't believe nobody has chosen lake trout or sheefish yet. Lake trout is not my favorite, but I do prefer it over dolly varden/arctic char. I've never had sheefish but I would think it would be good since it is a type of whitefish.

Sheefish are pretty uncommon for your urban angler to get at. I don't think most people on here have tried it. I know I haven't

I love eating a 30+ inch rainbow that's been sitting behind a carcass jam

My favorite fresh water fish to eat is Eastern brook trout rolled in flour and pan fried in butter.
Having said that, my favorites that are available here in the Arctic are burbot and lake trout.

I voted King, but when I was younger I used to catch and eat a lot of Lakers....and loved em'. Mom used to stuff a nice big one with shrimp and crab and bake it. Yummmmm...!!!

Best thing I've had fresh water is Lake Erie yellow perch....Loves those little fellers. But Alaskan Freshwater, dime bright kings.
Life's to short for an ugly boat
