Default Later start for Moose Season

I am surprised by the number of hunters that were unaware that the usual date for the opening of moose season has been changed. Seems like an article in the newspaper in the weeks or days leading up to moose season would have been in order. It would be interesting to know how many people went out hunting anyway.
I saw it first right on this site months ago. Then read it for myself in the 2015 regulation book.

Which area are you referring to? There are archery hunts that are open right now which have not changed from previous years.

Unit 15 archery and general seasons were pushed back this year. I like the fact that our season runs till the 25th of September I'm not happy that were the closest area with that season and I suspect it will look like dip netting again for that last 5 days of season as most of South Central that didn't get a moose will flock to the peninsula to hunt an extra 5 days.

14A/B and 16 are open until the 25th of September as well, so that should relieve the added pressure on the Peninsula.

I had the archery tag last year. This year I got the muzzle loader tag and I hope it works out as good as it did last year

I've been Moose hunting all this week in unit #7...........I have not been hunting hard, but as long as I have to hike 4 to 6 miles a day anyway, figured I might as well take the 6.8 SPC-II, never know what you'll see.

Depends on WHERE you live. If your life RIGHT, it is rifle season.

I know 2 different friends who were all ready to go out on the 10th until my son and I wised them up......on the 9th. Took some serious talking to convince them the dates were changed.

Anyone who doesn't at least check the what's new section of the regs each year isn't very bright IMHO.
I always pick up the regs and read that section first thing.
It's so easy and makes sure my butt is covered.
I also check for EO's right before season.
    Why wouldn't you?
