    Default Seward Halibut Charter recommendation??

    Hey,
I'm wanting to do a day trip out of Seward for Halibut. Its been several years. I'd like to get some fish in the freezer. I don't want to go with a charter boat that is lazy and just wants to hit a chicken hole and go home. I've noticed the price of charters has skyrocketed over the last few years. I'd hate to drop $350 to be taken to a chicken hole just to come home with 10# of fish. I know that there is a chance of being skunked on a charter, but I would like to go out with a Captain that will work for getting his clients fish. I know that nobody will name charter companies on here, so if you could just PM me good/bad charters, It would be appreciated. I'd also like to target LingCod as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Johnny

Id call Randy Wells with Seward fish company . He's always been solid for me. I'm in Seward now and know he's been dropping the hammer on them this week. If you call Jdock and ask for a hog halibut run they might have a group to put you with as well.

Crackerjack Charters. Best in Alaska. Nobody is better. However, Cpt. Andy's boat is popular. Might not be able to get a seat. But if you'r alone, he might have a spot for just one.

Good luck. Wish I could join you......

Crackerjack is great, but we always go with Pro-Fish & Sea.
Your bait stinks and your boat is ugly

Nothing wrong with full day charters with Saltwater Safaris. They'll take you well outside of Resurrection Bay and put folks on big fish. If folks haven't limited, they'll head to a chicken hole in the mid-afternoon so everyone gets their two halibut. They'll put folks on salmon when they have their 'buts.
