Default Anyone going to pws for deer opening day?

If the weather will allow us were headed out to Montague around the 7th of August to see if we can get us a few deer. Plan to head to port Chalmers and hike up the mountain and stay up there for a day or two. Anyone else planning to head that way this early in the season?

Thinking about it too. It's been very productive in the past few years. Love those thick island climbs. Keeps most other hunters away from those tundra like clearings full of deer.

Hoping the weather holds out for next week leaving the morning of the 7th, getting excited to find some deer and hoping to get an arrow in a nice buck

A couple buddies went out for opening day from Cordova and one got a couple spikes and the other a very wide and heavy antlered forkhorn. They were hunting Hawkins Is.
An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

I think those "tundra like clearings" are probably Muskeg's, they're fine and dandy but I think Alpine is best!
