Default Weather in upper chatanika area

Ok we are from the south east lower 48. Weather patterns there ran from west to east pretty much all year. We are currently living in Fairbanks and building our cabin around mm48 on the steese. I am having a devil of a time getting a grip on the direction of the weather up there. It seems that most of the rain clouds swirl from the northwest to the southeast with a rotation like a hurricane. Is this the norm? NOAA radar coverage of AK is limited so its hard for me to see the patterns. I have never lived in the mountians, so spendi g my weekend running a chainsaw above the cloud line was a cool experience.

It's typically west to east with some variation. Occasionally a storm will come thru from south or north but never from the east... well... not from my experience anyhoo...
I am serious... and don't call me Shirley.
