Default Cell phone coverage - Cooper Landing

My dad and I are flying in on September 2nd to hunt black bear and I was wondering what the cell phone coverage is like in the Cooper Landing area. Will I be able to get service on the ridges of the Mountains? We will have a Sat Phone for emergencies but I would like to send my mom and wife text messages so they know all is well.

Spotty depending on exact location. Verizon is your best bet, AT&T is ok. If you're up high enough you'll probably be ok to text at least.

No guarantees of anything service wise. Call before going into the woods and then again upon return. Leave a description of the drainages you will be in and expected return. I usually tell her to give me a day or 2 before getting concerned but it has never been an issue. But then again we were both born before cell phones were a necessity

Like I said, we'll have a Sat phone for emergencies. If all else fails, I'll suck it up and send a text from that. Thanks for the input guys.

I usually got good cell coverage when I was with Verizon there, but it depends on which side of the mountian you are on.
Life's to short for an ugly boat

AT&T has crappy service there. Hit or miss when you are in "town". In the hills probably not likely

I don't think I can PM yet. I sent you a PM but when I look in the sent folder, nothing is there. I found an email address in one of your old posts and sent you an email.
