    Default Best Dipnetter Insult

For you plebes that dipnet (and I are one of you), what is the best put-down/insult that you have endured for your activity. There must be some real good ones from our rod and reel friends. I'll begin with mine. We were headed down to Chitna in 88' when we stopped for gas in Deltoid Jct.
The station owner looked at our nets disgustedly and said "I'd rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother who's a dipnetter". Needless to say we didn't buy any snacks from that guy.

I have no insult. But I do wish Anchorage would bulldoze a bunch of buildings, scoop out a big artificial lake with a long twisty river connecting to the inlet, set up an aquaculture program, and create its own dip net fishery for itself.
Guess I've dodged too much dip net traffic today and I expect it will only get worse.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to sayak again.

I have had dipnetters insult me before.
Usually when I am pointing out something they are doing wrong (illegal)they shout something back at me. Usually just *****hole or something of that nature.

My guess is in 5-10 years we will have a whole bunch of abandoned buildings to bulldoze in downtown Los Anchorage. Just need to connect them all to Campbell creek, add a hatchery, and presto....we we'll have our own dipnet habitat to pillage.

Hail yes! Add a 4-wheeler track for the frustrated city-bound ATVers, an RV park, maybe a Polynesian cultural center and you will have the mouth of the Kasilof in June-August... if you can keep the homeless folks contained.

I've got my problems with this fishery,in fact I wish it would go away. But I don't blame the people for participating. Tonight about 6 p.m. I was informed my commercial Gillnetter and two others were dragging their mooring anchor downriver. The processor skiff was busy trying to slow the drag and a dipper at the city dock gave me a ride out to my boat. Didn't get a chance to properly thank him but it proves that Even them dam dippers have some good in them!

I hope your business is doing well and you are making a good profit from your labors. This state will need a bunch more of you when our fiscal crisis hits in a couple of years. Hope yr boat is OK.

    Gunner, glad it worked out
If a dipnetter dips a fish and there is no one around to see/hear it, Did he really dip?

In the other direction, I love yelling at other dipnetters that I know "Your mother eats flounder!" Good for a laugh.

Lots better story if you got her phone number. Feel free to PM me
