Thread: New to me boat.

    Default New to me boat.

Been lurking here for a while. Just purchased my first river boat in Alaska. Details on the boat are posted below. I am looking forward to learning from folks here and on the river. Can't wait to get a jet foot on it and take it out to the bigger rivers for some time behind the wheel. Anyone recommend the best place for service and price on a jet for the Suzuki? Thanks.

Gary at Greatland Welding in Palmer treated me right on a jet pump purchase.

I have no idea what those jet units go for. There is one (supposedly new) on craigslist for $1,600.

Large jets go for about $2300 and there's a 6-7 week lead time required to get one.

Here's a pic of the boat. Anyone here know it?

Nice boat. Jet unit on Anchorage craigslist is up at Big Lake. It is for a 115-140 Suzuki.

    Thanks Uncle Buck

I was looking at that jet pump a few days ago. Looking at OutboardJets.com it shows different part numbers for the older year model motors, not sure if it will work. I am going to give Gary at Greatland a call and get some more info about pumps.

Check eBay. I picked up a jet for less than dealer cost. Even with shipping from the east coast it was less than anyone in AK could touch.

Thanks for all the info so far. Keep it coming. Here is a pic of the inside of the boat. I like the idea of removable seats for sleeping in the boat at night. Also tossing the idea of seat boxes for more storage. What's in your river boat?
