    Default Weight, Trek , Skye , SL , 2015

Hard to find the weight on some bikes.
Not sure why ? ? Should be a required spec.
Searched hard online for the weight of a Trek , Skye SL, 17", 29er.

    FTI:

    Weighed one, 34.3 pounds.
Scale not perfect but within a few tenths.
Then put all my stuff back on. 41.6 pounds (no water bottle) upgrade seat, pump, rear rack , bag of stuff, tube & tools.

I know it can be frustrating to not find those weights listed, but it really is difficult for them to do that because each bike build can be so different depending on the specific components used and different sizes. Each frame size will be a different weight, then changes in things like tires, saddle, wheels, etc... will all cause differences in weight. They could list a weight for a specific build, but that would end up only being accurate to a very small number of bikes actually on the market.

    REI has a good site.
Most of what they sell they give a weight for the medium size of that type.

    Like you said, an estimate.
Probably not gonna find a 22 lbs mt bike . LOL
