Default Silvers out of whittier yet?

I see Seward is starting to see silvers and they are moving in. Any word where they are at out of Whittier?

I don't think I've ever caught them in the Perry/Culross area before mid-July.

Depends on how far you want to run. My friend got some at Hinch entrance a few days ago.

I'm talking closer in, like north side of Knight. I'm usually thinking mid July myself, but correct me if I'm wrong (because I have not fished Seward), but it seems Seward is starting to get some good numbers earlier than usual.

Seward is right on time. In general, Silvers are not difficult to find out of Seward by the solstice, and it's full on hot fishing by July 4th.

    Default They are here

There are some near the harbor, at Pigot, and more further south. Hopefully a bunch will make it to town this year. Lots of reds at Main Bay too!

Thanks for the update! Care to be a wee bit more specific? Not looking for a favorite spot but have they pushed into the local bays or are they in PWS in general

I was out this past weekend just a little past smith island and silvers where chasing my halibut setups. We saw salmon jumping all the way from whittier to out there(not sure what type they where) So im sure there are silvers next to knight.

I was out Thursday and Friday and caught lots of silvers from Mink Island back down to Culross Pt. then crossed to Pigot and caught 2 silvers and a king. Caught a big bright hen king in front Cliffside marina. Wish you could keep more than 3 coho...fun to catch, but I had to release some real hogs. Also caught a wolf fish that was 5 ft. if it was an inch. I finally cut the leader at the hook eye. That sucker really wanted a piece of me!

18 between crafton and applegate, some nice 12-13lbs ones too. 5 hours of fishing kk and apex.

I got mine with a Brad's and Deep 6. Kind of a special day for me as I tried quite a bit last year and got zip. These were the first fish I've ever caught trolling. I couldn't believe the silvers in the salt...plumb freakin', all over the place, nuts. They all out fought the 50" king I got in Whittier harbor.

Glad to hear there's some size to them. We've caught quite a few out of Seward, near Pony Cove, in the last week and a half and those have mostly been on the small side (so far).

Easily the best silver fishing I have seen in my 9 years in PWS. They are stacked up everywhere. Going Thursday and again Sat-Sun. We trolled up a nice 30 inch ling as well, fun fight on light tackle for my 9 year old but he was none too happy when I had to shake him.

I just got back from Whittier on my first voyage out on my new boat, "Boat Blues". We went to Crafton island on the north side, and I havent had action like that since 2009 in Chaval Narrows. We started with three rods, but it was too tough to manage. We went down to two rods and we limited four people in 1.5hours. Headed to seward tomorrow for some different scenes, good luck.
