Kenai Terminal Set and Kenai Terminal Drift now in effect:

Through July 6, the estimated sockeye salmon passage in the Kasilof River has exceeded 191,000fish. Based on the previous 10 years (2005-2014) of passage estimates in the Kasilof River, thesockeye salmon run is on average 32% complete through July 6, which would project a finalpassage of more than 595,000 fish (ranging from 534,000 to 672,000 for runs 3-days early to 3-days late). The Optimal Escapement Goal (OEG) in the Kasilof River is 160,000390,000 fish, while the Biological Escapement Goal (BEG) is 160,000340,000 fish, thus, the minimum for boththe OEG and BEG have been met.

My wife and I can't go together and I can't wrangle 2 little ones and fish by myself. Any families going this week that have room/want for a dad and 4 year old & 13 month old that listen very well? I'll gladly take turns watching kiddos. Unfortunately, we don't have any kind of support system here. Nobody that can/will watch kids even though my wife's parents are here, they're kinda like absent grandparents...fair-weather grandparents or how ever one would phrase that. They'll interact with the kids if we drive there and visit...but will not take the kids even for a few hours. They're wonderfully behaved, well adjusted kids too...sweet as can be.

Didn't mean to spell out my life story, just listing why I am taking my kids by myself if I go and would appreciate taking turns fishing/watching kids

Just found out my Chrome browser won't show live web cam feeds...works with Firefox, though.
Does the webcam move? it shows different areas every time I open it.

I'm trying to decide whether to go on the 15th, which is opening day I think? I know there are some ways to make some predictions, but I don't know how. What are the indicators?
Hike faster. I hear banjo music.

Opened today at 6am. Best historical indicator is the third week in July. Commercial fleet is going to be out for sure Monday and Thursday, so if I had only one shot, I'd go Wednesday as a general rule. All other indicators are mainly for amusement. Ha!

Am I missing where the fishing reports are? Kinda surprised I haven't seen anything about how it's going on the Kenai.

I can confirm one fish beached on the North side. Seen it myself.
