    Default Seward Sockeye Snagging

Thinking about going down tomorrow and try to snag a sockeye or two. Can anyone give a first timer some tips? High tide/low tide best?

PM me if you don't want the info out to everyone.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have had better success snagging an hour or two before high tide till an hour or two after. The best advise I can give you is to observe the whole snagging method, choose a spot and stick with it. If fish are there you are bound to hook into one or two. Good luck

We did. Had fun, but the fish didn't really cooperate. The guy at the gate said a few days before we were there were really good, but that fishing has really slowed. Didn't see one salmon caught but did manage to snag a 20" flounder. Pretty good eating fish.

Might go back and try my luck again in the next week or so.
