    Default New flotation device

Well, everything went well on our maiden voyage. Only blood on the boat was mine from the champagne bottle at the dock in whittier...

The only issues were the radio seems very weak on transmit and receive, and the transducer took a crap after the first day.

246.7 miles on the main (per the Yamaha guage), total of 13.3 hours.
    4 hours on the kicker.

I overfilled it at the gas pump the first time and it held 82.5 gallons in the 85 gallon tank.

Took 74.24 gallons to fill her to first click.

Yamaha guage said 78 gallons total fuel used (this is for the main only - without the kicker).

I followed the break in procedures to the tee and documented it as we went.

Besides liberals, never trust a fuel gage. Trust your instinct. Nice boat.

Good luck and have fun with the new rig !! Check the antenna plug on the radio might be a bad solder job on the connector.

Deweys gave me a new connector and a new transducer. The factory connector was a manual twist on - this one is a solder on type connector so hopefully that was causing the issue. I just finished putting them in. Should have asked for a box of tie wraps :-). I am not sure how to test the transducer - reading up on that now (without being in the water).

I had an extra 20 gallons of fuel with me. Boat was loaded with 2 people, 2 dogs, full fuel, 110 pounds of fishing tackle, poles, cooler, shrimp pots.

I re-added up the gas receipts. It held 83.489 gallons initially.
