Default Memorial Day Suggestions for Anchorage/Valley Fishing?

Looking to get some fishing in on the long weekend. The girlfriend and I are even looking into renting a boat for getting on a lake. Live in anchorage, but no problems going for a little drive.

Anyone have any reports/suggestions? Trout, pike, grayling?

Finger Lake? Lower Fire Lake? Big Lake? Anything going on?

I just got some pics of some impressive rainbows from Kepler Lakes area and you can rent boats there BUT it's going to be crazy at any lake this weekend. Good luck and take a kid fishing!

First Kings have been caught out of Ship Creek if you don't want to leave town.

I went out this morning trying my hand at ship creek for the first time....30 minutes in I had and lost a decent sized king. Kinda broke my soul, but its good to actually know their in.

A hike in to redshirt lake can be very good. tipecanoe rentals has canoes in there. Rent a key from them at South Rolly, hike 3 miles to redshirt, and commence fishing. They should be biting like mad this weekend.

Caught and landed my first king today (Sunday afternoon) at Ship Creek using roe, spin N glo, some weights around 1 hr after high tide. 26 inch male dime bright king. Your mileage may vary.
