What is that bright thing? Is that supposed to be there this early in the year in Alaska?

Yep. What an amazing sight. Make you forget all the nonsense of Whittier.

I'm probably heading out next week... thanks for sending that pic. I have to say, that exact location where the boat's at in that picture is one of my favorite places in this world. There is nothing better than getting past the Whittier tension at the launch (and life), taking that exact corner in the picture and having all the weight on your shoulders just drop... feels like you're weightless. The exciting anticipation of the exploration ahead in the great Prince William Sound, as you hold your hand on the throttle and take one last peek around your boat to make sure everything is tied down and the crew is ready to get on step. Then, vrrrrooooommmmmmmmmm. MAN... nothing beats that. Can't wait. Thanks for sharing.

Sitting on the slope toiling away so on 12 days I can get that happy feeling of making that corner and heading out.

    John,

My friend Dave in Homer just ordered two 350HP Yamaha's for his boat. Probably down to 3/4 MPG.
Water flat here but we are saving our king punches for the possible 2nd run. Setting on the bank for a few days.

You are probably right, twin 350's on a big bay weld is not going to get 2... it doesn't get 2 now with what it has on it... it gets "I don't care its fun and I can afford it".
