Default Yamaha stripped oil plug. ideas???

The big funky aluminum oil plug on my 2006 Yamaha Kodiak stripped when removing it. The threads on the plug and machine's oil pan are completely trashed and there is a tube poking in the hole for the screen so a tap can't be used. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

I would first try a new plug with lots of Teflon tape,, if that doesn't work you made need to try to work around the tube issue and install a helicoil.

Another option I have seen used is to install a selftapping drain plug, some even have a plug that can be removed to drain oil so once you get it in you don't have to keep removing it for oil changes.

They make a oil drain plug that replaces one that are stripped for cars, see if it will work for you.

I don't understand the tube poking in the hole for a screen, you can't remove the tube and replace it after you fix the problem? do you have picture?
