Default Sockeye fishing in Resurrection Bay

I know you can snagged sockeyes at the little stream next to the campgrounds. My question is do the sockeyes migrate up the Fourth of July Creek? If the they do, when and is feasible to fish for them from a boat where the creek empties into the bay?

No they do not. These sockeye are hatchery fish, planted and raised and mostly owned by the seward commercial fishing fleet. They swim up resurrection river to bear creek, and up to bear lake. They have a weir there and station where they cull the reds, clean and bathe them in antibiotics, and then tag them and let them go to spawn in the lake. They only allow a certain number to go up, the rest are scooped up and taken to market, and the money is divided among the shareholders.
