Default Bear Hunting in Homer area

Struck out looking for black bears in NW PWS last weekend and high seas are forcing us to land this weekend. Anybody know about places for hunting in Homer area? trails? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Didn't you read the tiny bears thread by Homerdave? Bears are all shot out around there.

If you had access to a boat and didn't mind hiking, I'd hike into Moose Valley back behind Halibut Cove and glass the hillside. During the summer I always see them back there. It's about a 3 mile hike, so you really have to want to a bear. There's an old trappers cabin that forest service took over as a rental back there. The Moose Valley creek runs in front of the cabin for an easy water source. Have fun.
