Default Speaking of tiny bear paw prints.......very tiny.

Before today I had never see such tiny brown bear tracks. Only 1 3/8" wide, with some serious claws for such a little bear. And in all my thousands of days afield in Alaska.........I have yet to see a bear in a tree.

hedgehog - that's my guess. Released into the wild near Hope with it's four babies, whose trackes are 1/2" wide. LOL...

I've seen bears (black bears) in a tree 3 times. Once along Skilak Loop, a momma bear chased her 3 cubs up a cottonwood and then followed up behind them (yeah, got some pictures). When the Portage Conservation Center had their blackies in the old enclosure, I saw bears in trees twice (2 different falls) while returning from the KP.
