Default Alaska Wildlife Rugs and Taxidermy - I know you all wonder...

Yes, I do shoulder mounts. Here are some photos of a caribou shoulder mount I just finished up - with detachable antlers.

Nice work. Are detachable antlers extra or included in your shoulder mount price?

    Thank you.

Detachables are extra -$150 more than the regular shoulder mount price. Form alterations to shoulder mounts are minor and included in the cost (not including changing to open mouth, which is also extra).

Yes indeed. People do have a mount done so they can swap antlers. Want velvet antlers for a while? Cool, grab them out of the attic...Oh - or maybe you'd rather show your in laws the double shovel mount. LOL
Truthfully, detachable antlers are a superior way to mount caribou or moose or other large antlered critters for those who move a lot or are non residents, and that is the most common reason to have them done.

non residents - did you know that it will cost you about the same to have a caribou mounted up here and shipped to you vs having the cape and antlers expedited to a lower 48 taxidermist? This caribou is going outside - and so is the next one I have to mount.

Outstanding work, Juli. The detail around the eyes is exceptional. That's the area that separates good taxidermists from great ones. Well done.

Thank you Johnboy. I appreciate the kind words. I believe taxidermy is a skill mastered over a lifetime - at least by those who want to master it. I hope I have lots of years left. I love my job.
