Default Latest creation from AKmud Electra Dyne puller/davit/crane

AKmud just finished up this beauty of a davit/crane for a customer of ours. I'm waiting for more pics of the install.

Is it going to be used to hoist an inflatable on top of the pilot house as well as pot puller?

Yes it is and there is a post by the owner on the boat mods forum. He is going to get out this weekend for the trial run so look for more on it in his post.

The boat owner Dave and AKmud came up with a great simple & clean design, can't wait to hear how it works out for him.

Everything worked out pretty well. I do think that I need to come up with a locking system or the ability to pin the davit in a stationary position. This became clear when I attempted to free pots on one of the sets. The crane / davit would pull up against the canvas top. The only thing that did not go well was the shrimping. I went to some of the regular spots where I used to drop the pots 5 years ago. Used to do pretty well, this time the total take for two 5 pot sets was around 70 shrimp total. I used to average 60-70 shrimp per pot. Here picture of a five pot pull from 5 years ago along with my total take with the kids this weekend. Not sure if things are fished out, or if factors were different. Dropped in 450 - 550 feet.
