    Default The "new" Scott Canoe

This spring, Scott canoes are to be again available, made in northern Quebec, by Abitibi&Co. With the strong US$, the price of the Canadian made boats should be a lot lower than in recent years. I noticed that their brochure shows no James Bay model. Try this link:

Thanks for the help. I'll check out the site. I really hope they haven't dropped the HB!

    snakedoctor ....
The HB is still in the brochure ... I bet it will be cheaper now (due to the stronger dollar) than I paid 5 years ago.

I believe that the front seat is moulded into the boat....and cannot be removed ,like the original HB...for a more storage option.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the long and short transom? Meaning, is the long transom model built up at the back, or is the canoe deeper?

I have an older hudson bay built for a short shaft. I'm thinking about powering it with a short shaft etec 25hp. I'm wondering if the 150lb motor will be too much for the boat?

    Any thoughts?

I believe the short transom has a cut out and the long doesn't. I have the short transom. I have used a 130 pound motor with no issues. Sue she would handle another 20 pounds.
