Default baiting with out a bait barrel

I will be hunting in the southeast in a remote area where I will not be able to get a barrel into. Anybody have some suggestion on how to keep my bait(popcorn) out of the rain. 5gallon buckets, logs? Any advice is helpful. This will be my second year baiting.

Lots of people simply cover their bait with brush, several utube videos show that.

A light weight tarp, set up like a lean/to, tied to trees. Works great.

We've dug a pit and placed logs on top to keep wolves, coyotes, squirrels etc. from getting to the goodies.
Your bait stinks and your boat is ugly

I use an old bed sheets with my scent on it and cover up the bait pile lay 4 logs to hold the sheet down. Other critters seem to stay away and the bears get use to my scent and its easy to see if the bait has been touched from a ways away . The scent does not bother the bears from getting to the bait

You can sometimes find an old rootwad or stump that you can stuff your bait under and then cover with brush logs.
