How is it going everyone? I'm looking at starting small for right now but I have been looking at making a cold frame to grow so veggies. Does anyone have any input about this? Please let me half it because google is only doing so much for me right now. I want to hear it from the Alaskans! Thanks all.

I have one small coldframe, grew some tomatoes in it last year
I use raised beds for the garden veggies.

Generally in Southcentral we don't need cold frames to grow vegetables. I think you need to find somebody in Cordova who is growing a garden and see how they do it. Definitely you want rain tolerant crops if they aren't in a cold frame. I imagine that carrots and potatoes could both grow well, and perhaps peas.

Cole crops and green leafies seem to grow well anywhere, but definitely you want to find some local knowledge.

I'd definitely go with HikerDan's advice. You can learn a lot from this forum generally speaking, but talking to someone with more localized experience would be your best approach.
