    Default Otter for bait/lure

I know beaver is a great attractant for bears but wondering if anyone has used otter and had any luck?

I haven't used it for bear, but an otter carcass on my snare line worked very well.

Otter is consistently the LAST thing in a bait pile that gets eaten. Even the birds seem to avoid it until there is nothing else left to eat. I have had otter carcasses that sit on my trapline for weeks without hardly even getting nibbled on by the odd ermine. YMMV

I guess my foxes were extra hungry.

Hmm thats interesting. Im gona hang one or two so that nothing can eat it just hoping it puts out enough scent for an attractant. Ill let you know here in a month or two. Thanks for the replies
