Alaska Cycling, my best 20 mile route so far
Great views of the mtns, nice weather, little breeze. . Pretty much level, few short up hills to get your blood pumping.
From Sears, Seward Meridian , L on bogard to Peck, cross Fishhook to Spruce, Spruce R on Lucile to Seldon.
Seldon enda at bogard. Bogard to Trunk. Trunk to Blue Lupine to Hay St.
Good wide paved shoulders almost all the way. Peck is a bit narrow but the 35 mph speed limit, low traffic & short distance, it was fine. Spruce has a goo bike trail on the So side, I used it all the way to Lucile.
Lucile is narrow but 40 mph & no much traffic. Seldon starts out a bit narrow, straight & good view, widens up to 6' paved shoulders after crossing Fishhook.
"Now the treat" where Seldon hooks t Bogard. "Millers Ice Cream store" . What a place for a break.
Bogard to Trunk, good shoulders. Trunk I used the bike trail on the W side. Felt like I had my own private 10 foot wide paved trail. When on Trunk, Red light at the PWH was the only time I had to stop until I got home. 6 miles Trunk & Blue Lupine ; good bike trail all the way to Hay st.
Will use this route often, especially this summer (Chocolate/vanilla swirl ) & some 1 handed riding LOL
Seldon:............................Round-a-bout at Lucile & Seldon
Got speedometer / trip logger mounted. Speed, time of day, trip time & distance, average speed & max speed
+ an odometer to keep track of the total miles on the bike.
Just 15 miles today. Few rain drops. SM - Trnk - Blu Lup
Rode to bike shop by Lowes, got a rear rack & bag for "stuff"
Light rain gear, some snack & extra water, Place to put stuff for longer rides..
I didn't think the weather was gonna warm up, but got to 47 so
I did a 14 mile ride.
SM to Bogard / Trunk & Blu Lupn & home.
Left at 47° got home at 42°, a little cool, glad I cut it short.
