To all the boaters & fishermen in the Port Wells,Coghill, Main Bay, Ester Island & Culross Island/ Culross Passage area. Please watch out for gillnetters(mostly bowpickers, house aft boats) fishing in these areas. The nets corklines are floating on the surface of the water and they can do damage to props & outdrives if you run over them not to mention the money it will cost you to pay for the damage of the net and lost fishing time of the commercial fisherman it belongs to. I know its hard to see where you are going with the sun and or glare in your eyes so PLEASE slow down when you see any commercial fishing boats in those areas. The nets are not always in a straight line away from the boat its attached to, they can curve around because of wind and the currents.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL AROUND FISHING GEAR.
THANK YOU
