    Default Lingcod Advice

Hello folks! My family is going to be visiting in July and I would like to arrange a charter for some Lingcod. I was looking for some charter recommendations either out of Valdez or Seward. Any information would be great =]

Out of Seward check with Pro-Fish'n Sea or Crackerjack both are booked out of the same office. These are the best charters available.

If you got to Valdez Fish Derbies homepage there is a tab on the top right that will list charters available here in Valdez

Absolutely the two best lingcod trips I ever took were with Andy Mezirow of Crackerjack Charters out of Seeard, and Abel out of Kodiak. Both are members here. Abel goes by "Abel" here, and Andy is "AKCapt".

X2 with Crazy Ray. He's a class act. And 6 pack boats. Good luck trying to get a seat though during Ling season. He's usually booked.

Thanks for all the great advice everyone! Might have to delay another year just so I can start booking earlier

We got some great still shots from that trip too! Check out the headers on our Boating Page, and the lingcod photo at the top of our Lingcod Page! And for those who have not seen the Kodiak Videos, here are the links to PART 1 and PART 2! Some pretty good lingcod action on Part 1.

You should be aware of the ADFG limits for lingcod vs. some of the charter outfits' "self-imposed limits." In PWS and Cook Inlet, the ADFG allows for two lingcod per day. Many of the charter outfits out of Homer, and Seward (who may fish in PWS waters) have been limiting customers to one lingcod per day due to what they perceive as a scarcity of the resource in more recent years. You may wish to inquire into this with the outfits you're considering if you're interested in keeping more than one lingcod.
