    Default Beginner trails near Anchorage

I brought home my new sportsman 570 last night and I'm eager to start getting a feel for her. I have very little time on a quad but I'd like to go out tomorrow and have a little fun. I don't have a winch but it is on order. Sunday I'm riding with a friend so I'll be a little more bold then but as for tomorrow I'd like a nice easy trail, or even an open field to get a feel for the new ride. Any suggestions?

I am not sure of the trail conditions, but if it is open the trail from Eklutna lake back to the glacier is an easy ride and some interesting country. I am sure that there are other equally east trails but without a winch on your machine, they may not be the best. Have a fun/safe time. New machines are always fun to get out an play on!!!!

Jim's creek is the most popular trail especially for this time of year, Eklutna lake trail is easy I don't believe it's open this time of year. Bird Creek trail is a nice easy trail to ride too. Sutton off of Jonesville road is another easy popular trail. Good luck with your new quad.

I had some friends go on a 40 mile ice skate last weekend, and I am pretty sure that about 5 miles of the skate was actually on the flooded Jim Creek Trail. Could be wrong, but it could be a little squirrelly right now without studded tires.

Maybe I'm not thinking of the same trail.

    Newbies,
The correct nomenclature is 'Jim Creek' , not 'Jim's Creek'.
