    Default Hello from Anchorage

I have a cabin the meadow lakes Mat su burrow area and was wondering how the ice is looking on the main rivers and the lakes in the general area? is it still thick? Happy fishing!

Not sure of the other lakes, but the Iron Dog left Big Lake in a few inches of surface water on Sunday. I'd dig a couple test holes, before I went too far.

Ice is fine out here in the valley.
Last weekend at finger lake we had 50 vehicles parked in a big group for the finale of the kids fishing derby in front of the elks lodge. Ice is still 3' thick.
Heck, its been in the teens at night. Everything is rock hard.

I haven't been able to do much ice fishing this year but I was hoping for a bit of a earlier break up to hit up those starving bows

You'll have to wait for mid to late April.
