    Default Which bullet?

For general use on black bear, and even moose or a charging grizz, which bullet would you choose shooting out of a .300 win mag.

-180g nosler partitions (which dont shoot "perfect" out of my rifle)
-165g barnes ttsx (havent tried them through my rifle yet)
-180g barnes ttsx (havent tried them through my rifle yet)

I want to buy some factory ttsx rounds and see if they are more accurate out of my rifle past 200 yards. Would you feel confident shooting the above animals with a 165g ttsx? Mostly concerned with blackies for right now.

    Thanks guys.

How about a 200 grain nosler accubond?

For the moose and black bear, the 165 ttsx is fine. A charging grizzly? M-1A1 Abrams.

180gr TTSX's have been a superb bullet in my .300WM. Super accurate and flat out perform like they should. The charging grizz is going to be the one category where having more firepower is definitely your friend.

    All the above.....

Had a guy asked what the best bear rifle was for a bear charge....I told him the one in his hands. If you got a bear in front of you and a gun, congrats you've got a bear gun.

Best "which gun to get" "which bullet to use" advice I've heard yet!

I've taken a pile of animals with 165 Speer boat tails out of a .300 Win mag. I switched over to Barnes X a number of years ago, and that is about all I use in my bolt guns now. For my .270, 06, .300, .375, .416, and the mother of them all, my .458. The bullets hold together and don't waste meat like a lead copper will.

I shoot 180 gun swift scirroccos out of my 300 win mag and have killed a lot of animals with it. They shoot flat and hit hard and are very accurate out of my rifle.

Nosler accubond 180gr. I'm into long range shooting for target practice and at 1000 yards your hitting with almost 1100 ftlb! You wont regret shooting Nosler accubonds. Watched my buddy take his goat at 1000 yards, found the bullet when we where skinning him and it was almost folded back half way! Great bullets!

I went to Joe Want's seminar a couple of years ago. He said that the core lokt's were his #1 bullet.

I agree with Dexter, best choice out there for that caliber in my opinion, for whatever that is worth.

I run the 168 TTSX and wouldn't worry about its performance on anything. I have killed a bunch of game, it's penetration is unbelievable. I haven't been able to stop one yet.

Took my moose, blackie and brownie with 165 ttsx in .300 mag last year.. Moose with 180 gr this year no problem. the heavier 180's would be my choice unless wanting a flatter long, long range bullet
