    Default Caribou Hunt 2014

I took my oldest son hunting for the first time this year. My son was diagnosed with autism and never really seemed interested in hunting/fishing/outdoors. Well he is 15 now and as I was making plans for my hunting trip this year, I planned on taking one of my boys with me. I asked him if he wanted to go and to my surprise he said yes. He has grown into a fine young man and did fantastic on this hunt.

It was early when this big boy decided to stroll by camp at 7am. My son decided to sleep in that morning, he woke up to me shooting this monster. He quickly got up and helped to get this majestic animal taken care of. He did very good. I'm extremely proud of how hard he worked on this hunt. He didn't complain once.

We hunted for a couple more days to try and fill the additional tag that we had as well as a moose tag that we had with no luck. An adventurous trip out left us with our wheeler on its side in a mud hole. He worked hard to get it upright all while being soaked. The trip out that should of taken 2 hours took us almost 4. We got out right at dark. Got things loaded up and headed home. This is the finished trophy that I will never forget the memories with my son as I watched him become a young man.

Love it when things work out, even better when it's with someone you care deeply about!

Super glad for you! I'm glad we didn't partner up after all, the caribou were on vacation at Slide Mountain. We didn't see a single one. Glad you found a better spot and your son got to be a part. Topjob!

Looks like you all had a 'great trip' with lots of good memories! Not to mention the good meat that you all have.

Very cool wall mural. Gonna make a big assumption and ask, how did she do it?
