Thread: This falls bison hunt

    Default This falls bison hunt

I was lucky enough to draw my bucket list Alaskan hunt, a Farewell Bison.

I went in solo and took the Bison on opening day. The pack out was GPS 1.9 miles one way to the LZ. Took awhile to get it all out but will never complain since it was a once in a life time hunt.

I feel very lucky to have been able to hunt a wild free rage Bison on public land.

Solo Bison and almost 2 miles, good for you!

Excellent! I took a bison up there during the winter hunt in 2002. It's such an awesome area, and not to take anything away from those that have been lucky enough to hunt Delta, but the Farewell hunt is just so much more wild and unique.

Looks like a cow, yes? How did she eat? My bull from there was tasty, but he sure wasn't tender.

Yes cow, cuts like butter as long as you don't over cook.

I have been putting in for a Bison hunt in Alaska since 1982. Friends of mine have shot 2 in this time frame. I will just have to keep trying I guess. Great job Skwentna Man

Congrats! I took a bull last Sept from that herd as well. Fantastic experience. Who did you fly in with?

Same with my old bull. Tasty, but not real tender.
