All afternoon. A couple words then nothing, over and over again. Impossible to follow.

It's up today. Keep in mind they shut it off during breaks and lunch. I know they just came back from a break a minute ago. Try again.

I believe they are going to start back on the sheep proposals as soon as they finish rehashing prop 71.

Stid, what are the main reasons the BOG is failing these for? Are they failing 0-7?

The vote has been all most unanimous all all sheep props with just a few exceptions and then only one member voted different.

Their reason for the non res draw was that using current hunter numbers by their calculations NR currently makes up only 14% and restricting them to 10% would have little effect. IMHO this is flawed, as many resident hunters get a sheep tag because they are free and they may see one. This makes it appear that there is more resident sheep hunters then there really is. They stated that NR success was over 60% and res success 16%, they did not address this much at all.

They refused the 13/14 changes because some members wanted to see an area were inexperienced hunters could hunt sheep without fear of killing a illegal ram as parts are any ram. They refuse to make those areas OTC because they feared guides would again dominate as they did before the draw.

They refused the early opening for both Res and bow hunters because it would concentrated effort in the early opening time and that bow hunters would run rams out of drainage's if allowed to start before the general opener and that they chose to limit themselves with archery gear.

Paraphrasing and may have missed some of the comments.

    Stid,

So if the BOG won't act can the citizens of Alaska do a ballot initiative to go to a 10% for Non Residents? I know it would only last for two years, but can an initiative be used for an allocation of resources in this manner?

Wish I knew,, I'm just a dumb country boy that likes to hunt. Have to be a constitutional lawyer just to try to understand half this crap.

The Chairman did state that if the legislator pass the bill to not allow BOG props, they would be able to get around it.

I do believe that we are not ever going to get the BOG to limit NR sheep hunters, after 6 years asking for the same, I just don't see it ever happening. I believe time has come to start on the politicians.
