I've shared that same bed at ANC many a time.

A long read, but very good.

    The theory:
    Guiding isn't commercial flying.
    Commercial cert NR
Commercial (or any type) plane NR
    Not sanctioned by FAA.
    Same as fishing lodges.

I should add; its not my "rule" and I don't necessarily agree. But that's it.

A person came to Alaska to hunt sheep, spent a ton more money to do so than a resident hunter would, got a sheep, and left. What are we weeping about?

And the hunter is from "Georgia." That may seem far away from being an Alaskan resident, but it really is not if you consider that Russia occupied Georgia for more-than a century (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia...Russian_Empire) and also occupied Alaska at the same time (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_America). So, the hunter was just exploring his Russian roots.

I really hope your joking. The guy clearly stated he departed from Atlanta, Georgia. I really hope you were joking for your own sake. I guess some people could be that naive and ignorant but not many.

Check out the quotation marks around the word "Georgia" and judge for yourself.

It's a thread about a sheep. People don't get jokes about sheep hunting.

The issue is NON-RESIDENT GUIDES. Should be mandatory to be a resident if your going to guide in Alaska.
Think about this--This non-resident guide CANNOT legally harvest a Sheep. Even the non-residents that are employed as assistant guides cannot legally take a Sheep.

I think about all they can do is raise the cost of a guide license till it's almost not worth it anymore.

Different fees for resident vs non-resident guide? Just a thought.

Yet another idea that's too good to ever be true. My opinion.... Res and Non-Res would be just about right.

Hopefully he hasn't bred. I remember when I though Russia was occupying Georgia in the southern part of the U.S., I think I was in 5th grade.
