    What wind? It hasn't blown hard enough to hurt anything here.

    My shed in the back yard is shredded! Off to rent a storage unit until I can get a new one.

    PAAQ METAR history shows a high of 59kt. Anchorage didn't get anything close to that. Not that 65mph winds are all that bad, but you oughtta turn your nose into it and make sure the ropes are worthy.

    Bad enough in Wasilla to blow over a UPS 45' trailer into the Evangelos parking lot and flip an enclosed snowmachine trailer behind a Dodge pickup. It's flat out howling in some places. Definitely high enough gusts to really pay attention to your plane in the Valley.

    In Valdez, Ravn/Era Dash-8 got blown sideways this afternoon while taxiing. A unique experience for this non-pilot. Worst take off I've got to enjoy. Must be hell of a pilot, that one.

    NWS has a site... Aviation Internet Weather. One selection you can make is observations from the last three days on the hour. Palmer shows the following;

    05 20:53 NE 45 G 75 10.00 Fair and Windy CLR 21 -16 26 18% -0 NA 29.62 1003.5

    Another good reason for a hangar, one bad wind day can chew up a year or 2 worth of hangar rent in repairs.

    Not everyone is a rich ***** like you Rppearso.
    the topic was not wether or not to buy a hangar,
    it was about what has happened due to the wind storm.
    I'm glad your Pitts is safe.

    How did I become a *****? A negitive outlook on life maybe but a *****? I was at Wasilla on sat and the planes looked fine, some wing covers might have looked ripped up but thats about it. Also there are people on this forum that will say things like "planes cost money" but im the *****.

    Also im not rich, I am struggling just to save 80k to buy a shanty in anch (correction minimum downpayment on a shanty to avoid pmi). I could sell the pitts and loose the hangar rent ..... nah.

    Also who would call a guy a ***** for taking care of his child or wife, that plane is as important to me as kids are to some guys. That probably damages me spiritually but its the truth.

    Why not lay off rppearso? I'm sure that many of us march to the sound of a different drummer . . .
