    Thumbs up First Cub Flight

Well, today was finally the day to get my feet wet in a cub. Up until now I've only flown a 172 (6 or 7 years now), so switching over to tail gear was a little...different, to say the least. I was a little uneasy for the first half hour of flight and the first few landings, but I think I'm really going to like it once I get a few more hours in.

No questions at this point, just wanted to share the excitement!

The next time you are down by Homer give me a call.
Float-Cub flying is even more fun than Cub-tailwheel flying. Hard to believe, but true..

Oh, I'm sure it is! Hopefully later in the summer I'll be learning to fly a 172XP on floats, though I know it would be even better in the cub. I've got free access to two planes, so I'll take what I can get for now. What I'm really looking forward to is the cub on skis this winter!

Don't sell the Hawk XP short. If it has the Isham 210hp STC and PeeKay B2300 floats it's a serious performer if flown as a 2-person airplane.

Oh, I love the XP - it's been a great plane for me thus far, and I'm really looking forward to it on floats (though I'm not sure of the specific model of floats). Still, I'm pretty darn excited about the cub. I'm going for round 2 tomorrow morning!
