    Default marlin levergun question

Has there ever been a stainless 336 with a STRAIGHT stock and grip? I did some searching and couldn't find one, thought you fine folks might know. What's the reason the non-big bore guns have barrel bands and the smaller calibers don't have them???? the only reason I can think is manufacturing cost..

Dont know about the stainless. But regarding the barrel band, I think its mostly a stylish thing particular to some models rather than a cost savings one.

yes, one i can think of is the SDT, Short Davidson Trapper I think. they made a short run of 251 of them, stainless, laminated wood, williams firesights. Nice rifles, they made them in 35 rem and 30-30. they dont come cheap though.
