    Default Finger Lake Ice Thickness...

So I drove on and fished Flat and Big Lake today...off the ice roads the ice was about 12 inches under about 6-8 inches of snow. Thought I'd swing by Finger on the way home...there must have been 30 vehicles there, all in the parking lot?? The first weekend of Dec I walked out to the 1st island and there was 5ish inches. Last Saturday there were big pickups out by the 1st island...today no vehicles out there that I could see at all...What's up? Anyone fish there recently and know the ice depth?

We were out there today, about 8-10" of good clear ice. A few vehicles on the ice but still a bit sketchy for heavy rigs. It's hard to know where those underground springs are keeping the ice thin.

Thanks AKM that was the info I was looking for. Strange year for the ice. I had seen a number of trucks out on Wasilla lake on the way back from Big Lake, so it just seemed strange I didn't see anyone out there...always daredevils ya know ! Have a great season...Happy New Year

15" today by the island. We walked on by the elk's lodge. People were driving on the ice.
