Default do blackfish bite at night?

I want to go catch some blackfish for pike bait and I forgot to go earlier today so I'm thinking about going in the next hour or so and I'd like to know if anyone has caught or fished for blackfish at night.

All you need is to head out there after dark with a burlap sack and a flashlight.

They eat whenever. I don't think they care.

When I was a kid we used to a catch a lot of blackfish on DeLong Lake in the dark. We'd lay on out bellies on the ice and shine a flashlight down the hole. We didn't know what they were as kids and mistook them for small burbot. Lots of fun!
