    Default Pilot service recommendation?

Looking to do some fly out black bear hunting in 2015. Just need someone to drop me in woods and pick me up in a week. Landing is optional but probably preferred. Ill take care of the rest. Don't need a guide or any gear.

    Any body have a preference?

P.S. I tried the search but it didnt return a whole lot. I've spent some time on google but everyone and their brother has a website that says "we're the best". Rather here it from a trusted community of hunters.

I second batmobile, any opinion/experience with the different pilots out of Kotz?
    Google tells me there are:
    Arctic Air Guides
    Alaska Island Air Inc
    Hageland Aviation Services
    Northwestern Aviation

    Any opinion on these guys?

Trail Ridge Air out of Lake Hood. Best one anywhere close. 248-0838 or jim@trailridge.com, its touch and go this time of the year but they'll return your message.

If you're flying out of the Kenai area, go with Alaska West Air. They have the best aircraft and experienced pilots that know the West side very well.

I have been flying with them for something like 30 years now. Maybe if I had a punch card, I'd qualify for a free one by now. Top class operation.

    Hula,

I've used Northwestern out of Kotz a couple times. Jim is always very professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend him for any flying in that region.

If I was flying out of Kotzebue I'd be talking to the following:
    Arctic Backcountry Flying Service
    Golden Eagle Outfitters
    Northwestern Aviation

Of these Arctic Backcountry would easily be my number one choice. Eric is a great guy and an awesome pilot.

Eric is a great pilot and my choice for any flights out of Kotz. Flew with him a few times. Great guy. Don't tell him your after black bear though. Will provoke an odd gaze I suspect. Ha ha.

Flew with Eric that last couple of years and would highly recommend him as well. Had Golden Eagle take us out this past year because Eric got backed up due to weather. Not sure if they cover for each other but it sure seemed like it. Heading out for bear in May and looking forward to it!

Eric and the guys at Golden Eagle are good friends and operate out of the same hanger. They'll help each other out if one gets backed up.
