    Default Eureka Snow conditions

Anyone have a snow report for the Eureka Lodge area? Need/want to get out an do some riding but with the lack of snow not sure where the riding is half way good.

    Thanks

I was thinking the same thing. According to NOAA Alaska, they should be seeing all snow from these systems moving in. Looks like it is gonna rain most other places. Depressing

Was up there last weekend, though on foot. Seems like enough snow for trail riding, but certainly not enough to ride cross country without hitting a lot of obstructions underneath the surface. Maybe a foot of snow total?

There's about 8-10" along the road, maybe a foot at most. Not enough to make it worth riding without risking hitting stuff. Summit lake up north of Paxon is about the only place with decent snow to ride, 3-4 feet there at higher elevations.

Anybody with a recent report? Thinking about going tomorrow for some ptarmigan hunting.

Snow is decent out here. Just the first 10 miles from Cantwell is thin. Brian's right on. Stay on the ATV trails. I have been going cross country, and it's doable, but just take your time. Lots of ptarmigan around between the Su bridge and Cantwell. I've been riding up in Sheep Valley and Butte Creek and finding quite a few. Butte Lake trail should be great hunting as well.

Any new reports around Eureka as of recently?

I was up that way yesterday but a few miles south of Eureka and the snow was terrible. What snow that was there was wind blown and crusty. Hopefully for the people riding Eureka those few miles makes all the difference.

Snow is great up here! The additional inches over the last week or two was great. It could always be better, but it's sure not bad. We are full this weekend, so we'll be going deep into the Clearwaters to see how it is up high. Temps are great also!

Rode yesterday looking for birdies. Snow coverage is pretty dang dismal. Maybe a foot in most places. You go off trail be prepared for a bumpy and brushy ride.
