I will be waiting awhile longer, especially after this unseasonably warm weather. But I went down to a lake I frequent in the winter here on the peninsula and someone had drug a large ice house out there. Just FYI.

Anyone know the current ice conditions on Engineer Lake? I saw this post that the ice was just starting to come in about 10 days ago.

I'm wondering if it will be thick enough this weekend. Thanks!

My guess is your going to have to get out your spud bar put on your traction devices and safety picks and go check it out.
I haven't heard of anyone fishing engineer yet this year.
I'm going to check out some lakes tomorrow for ice thickness for fishing this weekend.

Yeah, Engineer got a thin layer of ice Saturday night, but not enough to stop a canoe. Carol Lake off Strawberry had 5 inches of ice last Sunday.

    Default Refuge Lake

was out yesterday on a refuge lake and had 9" of solid clear ice. Fishing was pretty good as well. Also for anyone interested there is a new Peninsula Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/1513944808866515/
