Thread: Long Tails ?

    Default Long Tails ?

Has anyone been finding any this fall. Been out of Seward, Whittier and Cordova this fall but haven't located any yet. Lots of the other common sea ducks but these have been hard for me to locate.

Saw a few over in Halibut cove proper the other day. Don't usually see too many until late December.

Ive only seen a handful ever. Definitely one of the rarer sea ducks up here.

Like bucksducks said, they're around and not normally around shore. They are typically off the beach in they're feeding areas. There is a fair amount in Cordova, but gets better a tad later in the season.

Yes I've seen large flocks in late December in the Cordova Boat Harbor. Just looking for some before our season closes in an are open to hunting.
