Alright I know this forum is mostly used by people moving to Alaska. However, unfortunately Iím moving out of state due to work after 6 years of living in this beautiful place. I cannot wait to come back. So ill be leaving Anchorage the second week of February and headed to Colorado. Iíll have my F-350 with a slide in camper, wife, her and d*** dog and out 5 year old. Iím going to pull a trailer, not sure what size yet but looking somewhere in the range of 14í to 20í. I plan on getting a set of snow chains for my truck. We are looking to make the drive in 7-8 days or so, Im not really in a hurry. I donít mind driving in the snow and cold but itís just a long ways. I will have normal winter survival items. Iíll be bringing along a freezer full of game and fish and run a generator at night as needed. Ill have ammo, no guns.
What suggestion do you all have for making this trip safe and successful in February?
