Thread: Summit Lake Ice?

    Default Summit Lake Ice?

With all of the Lakes melting in Anchorage and the Valley, I'm wondering if Summit Lake on the Kenai Peninsula is still frozen hard since it is at a higher elevation. Does anybody know the conditions there? Has it stayed cold there or is it warm just like Anchorage? Anyone checked the ice?

Drove past it a couple of times the past two weeks, while lakes in the Anchorage and palmer/Wasilla areas were frozen over, upper Summit was wide open, lower Summit was iced over... mostly. I would not expect upper Summit to be safe.

    Upper Summit has zero ice.
