    I remember well the storm of 25 Oct 1977. I flew over it in a Coast Guard C130 at 24,000 feet and we got the snot pounded out of us. Had to pick-up a guy with a hot appendix on Attu. Was not a lot of fun. That storm produced 100 foot "Mountainous" waves in the Gulf of Alaska. Jim

    Been at sea in a storm that got down to the 950's and hope never to do it again.

    Can't even imagine 918mb's....
