Hem and copper River Charters take 6 at a time on each boat (2 boats). The fare is $90.00 and worth every penny of it. I have been going with Hem for the last 5 years. Its a first class operation. I have bad knees and I don't get around very well. He has always put me in a safe spot and right on the fish. You don't need waders because you will be standing or sitting on a rock. Bring tie off rope and use it no matter how safe it looks. Bring some 1/4" line for stringers (5 to 6 fish to a stringer). Dont bring a 5' Kenai net the river is too fast even in the edies. Bring a salmon net with the 12 or 15' fiberglass pole. you can use a gillnet or just the black or green net bag. i used a black net bag for the first time this year, because it's much easier to get them out but I missed a lot of fish Because i was not fast enough. When I used the gillnet bag, once they hit the net, you pretty much have them.
We fished on tuesday and it started out slow I was dropped off at about 7:00am and I only had 5 fish by noon, then it picked up and by 4:00 I had my 40. The fish are very bright and very big for this early in the season. The river is raising and that usually slows down the fishing (hot weather makes the river raise). Call Hems fishing report before you go 823-2200
    Good luck and good fishing
